Phil Mickelson is actually right-handed, but his many victories on the golf course have come as a left-hander. This unusual mannerism has its roots in his early childhood. Mickelson was stood opposite his father while trying to replicate his right-handed swing. The three-times Major winner was the first lefty to win the US PGA Championship. He experienced a minor crisis after the 2006 US Open, when he through away victory with a double bogey on the first play-off hole. However, he has long since recovered from this setback, as proven by an impressive two tournament victories and two top-ten finishes at Majors this year.
