The name "Vijay" means "Victory" in the official Indian language of Hindi, so it was only a matter of time: it was Singh, who dethroned the seemingly almighty Tiger Woods from the top of the world ranking list at the start of 2005. The Fijian pro enjoyed a sensational season in 2005, for which he was rewarded with a place in the World Golf Hall of Fame. He has been back on top form since August this year: he won the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational and the first of the play-off tournaments, The Barclays.
